(What were you expecting from a post-apocalyptic mystery novel?) I put it as less violent then any modern Marvel movie. While I found many other earlier reviewers complained of the level of violence in this series. Leaving off with another cliffhanger and some startling revelations makes the wait for STRIKE all the more painful. Trust in a world turned upside down by these two powerful military juggernauts is everything. Not everything is as it appears and not everyone is an ally. After escaping many different life threatening situations and struggling to stay together, each individual of the group struggles with who and what to trust. Picking up immediately after SYLO the team must seek refuge from an imminent attack from the mysterious black plane. Can't wait for STRIKE this October!įor anyone interested in discussion or more information you can go to D.J.'s website which is easy enough to find on Google or is listed on the back flap of this book. Finally, the ending of this first novel leaves you hanging by a fingernail off a 100 foot cliff. With non-stop action, excellent dialogue and a mystery pacing this action novel kept all other distractions out of sight. was kind enough to send me a ARC copy and STORM is a continuation of his best work to date. This man had essentially written my favorite childhood content.
SYLO CHRONICLES SERIES
fan since his 90s TV show Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and was stunned to learn the same man wrote my favorite series Pendragon. Tucker can't stop thinking about something his mother told him, Boston wins, but when they reach the city, they find what appears to be a safe and thriving group of survivors who have food and organization. After hearing a broken and mysterious message over a radio that still works, calling survivors to a location in the Nevada Desert, they're conflicted. They encounter a physician and Jon, an orderly who was helping the doctor run a scan in the lower levels when the attack happened. Scared and angry, they set off for Maine Medical Center to get Tori's gunshot wound cleaned up and re-bandaged.

The owner is killed, but Kent manages to sneak up on the attacking plane with their stolen car and blow it up. Right after entering a convenience store where they're confronted by the elderly, shotgun wielding owner, they're nearly killed by a blast from one of the mysterious black planes that have the USAF logo on them. We left Tucker, Tori, Kent and Olivia walking around an empty downtown Portland, Maine dazed and shocked by the complete absence of people and the scary realization that numerous buildings had completely vanished as well.
